UPDATE - November, 2022
Upon City Council approval of the Liquid Waste Management Plan Stage 3 in August 2021, it was sent to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Strategy (BC ENV) for consideration and approval. BC ENV has requested an amendment to the LWMP Stage 3 to address a few additional items. These items are captured in an amendment document. We invite the community to review the DRAFT amendment document in conjunction with the LWMP Stage 3 and provide comments until November 25, 2022. Please direct all questions and comments to RevelstokeLWMP@mcelhanney.com.

UPDATE - July, 2019
The Stage 2 report has been approved by Council and the City of Revelstoke is moving forward with Stage 3 of their Liquid Waste Management Plan. Stage 3 Report is a continuation of Stage 2, with the addition of refined costing and scheduling. To view the Stage 3 Draft Report, please click the link here.
Project Overview The City of Revelstoke is continuing the Liquid Waste [Sewage] Management Plan (LWMP) process to provide clear guidance to address the long-term infrastructure needs to meet current environmental regulations both federally and provincially, while supporting the community as it expands. To be fully transparent and inclusive through the process, we are providing general information, updates, and feedback opportunities as the project progresses.
Why Are We Doing This? Environmental regulations have become more stringent and there is projected growth in the City requiring improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The City has already entered the LWMP process, and in 2008 completed Stage 1. Completing the final stages of the process will provide a clear plan for improving and expanding the City’s WWTP which is a high priority of Council and the community.
