The City of Revelstoke’s Transportation Master Plan, adopted in 2023, aims to "foster economic viability and serve the existing and future needs of the community and needs for climate adaptation by focusing on resilient, multi-modal, and safe transportation solutions delivered in a fiscally responsible and appropriate manner".
The Engineering Department engaged McElhanney to develop an Active Transportation Plan for the Big Eddy, which aligns with the broader Transportation Master Plan (TMP). This plan builds upon the TMP by offering a more in-depth analysis of constructability and functionality in the Big Eddy area. The overall goal is to improve safety, comfort, and accessibility for pedestrians and other active transportation users in the Big Eddy. The report also provides cost estimates for implementing the recommended improvements.
